When Trigun debuted in 1998, it was a smash hit among anime fans in the United States. The series follows “Vash the Stampede”, a notorious fugitive with $$60 billion double-dollars on his head. While dodging bounty hunters, Vash journeys to discover his past. He is occasionally joined by priest + ace-gunman, Nicholas D. Wolfwood. Overall, Trigun has a funky, future-western feel, intense action, and some very memorable characters.

Since the release of the stand-alone feature: Trigun: Badlands Rumble in 2010, the fan base of this 90’s classic has been rekindled. Brace yourself, figures are coming…

This Gunman in Black alternate color version of “the Humanoid Typhoon” has been floating around the internet since February of this year. Whenever Kotobukiya releases a color variant, the trend has been a limited release. Keep a lookout if you’re after him, as a pre-order will be a must. Vash looks like a dark hero with his silvery hair & translucent accessories. The little chibi next to him is the creator of the Trigun franchise & original mangaka, Yasuhiro Nightow (内藤 泰弘).

Nicholas D. Wolfwood with Yasuhiro Nightow Chibi

Release Date: Expected late May-June 2013
Materials: ABS, PVC
Scale: 1/8
Height: 19.8 cm/7.80 in

It doesn’t seem long ago that I was lusting after the prototype. Nicholas D. Wolfwood wears his suit, and has optional sunglasses. He’ll look great dueling it out with Vash.

  1. Ah, those models looks so good with all of the details you highlighted (great slide-show). Hard to resist… Kotobukiya recently opened a European branch as well. I never really got into model collecting apart from a Revoltech Revy (Black Lagoon).
